Midwest Truck Accessories
Midwest Truck Accessories helps customers get more from their vehicles by providing and installing high-quality aftermarket automotive accessories. Based in Mount Vernon, Illinois, the company specializes in products such as camper shells, running boards, toolboxes, spray-in bedliners, and other truck accessories, serving both hardworking professionals who rely on their vehicles every day and retail customers looking to enhance their vehicles.
Although the company had previous experience working with the local IDOT garage in Mount Vernon, it wanted to expand its government contracting opportunities. Midwest Truck Accessories worked with the Illinois APEX Accelerator at Southern Illinois University to navigate the state procurement process, register with BidBuy, and identify new contracting opportunities.
With guidance from Illinois APEX Accelerator at SIU, the company successfully entered the BidBuy system, opening the door to additional state business. Since then, Midwest Truck Accessories has completed three state contracts, has two currently in progress with IDOT District 9 in Carbondale, and anticipates additional awards, including work with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) garage in Effingham.
Looking ahead, Midwest Truck Accessories plans to continue pursuing opportunities through BidBuy while expanding its portfolio of state contracts.
"APEX allowed me to sign up for BidBuy, which has opened a lot of doors for us with IDOT." — Kyla Palazzolo, Midwest Truck Accessories
